History

St. Anthony’s Academy Tech School (CBSE) is an initiative of the Society of Friars Minor, a charitable organization of the Province of St. Thomas the Apostle, India. Founded in 1973, the Society of Friars Minor is part of the Order of Friars Minor (OFM), commonly known as the Franciscans, an international religious order committed to education, social development, and humanitarian service.

Since 1992, the Franciscans have been actively serving in Punitha Anthoniaarillam, Rajakambeeram, and Othakkadai (Madurai District), deeply engaging with the local community. Their long-standing presence revealed a pressing need for a quality education system that integrates academic excellence with intellectual and character formation.

In response to this need, the Friars established St. Anthony’s Academy Tech School in Othakkadai, offering a CBSE curriculum aligned with global educational standards. The school is dedicated to nurturing young minds with strong values, discipline, and a commitment to lifelong learning, ensuring that students are well-prepared for higher education, professional careers, and competitive examinations.

With a legacy of over 33 years in Othakkadai, the Franciscans continue their mission to empower the younger generation through transformative education. St. Anthony’s Academy Tech School stands as a beacon of academic excellence, career preparation, and social responsibility, shaping future leaders who will make a difference in the world.

Guided by the Franciscan spirit, the school remains committed to delivering uncompromised quality education, ensuring that each child grows into a confident, responsible, and future-ready individual.
